EVAN GUIDERA / FLAME ARTIST

Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland as a teenager I was fortunate to be immersed in Fine Art training in my formative years. I began using oil paint on canvas to create illustrative frames, but that soon developed into an obsession for translating my images to the digital video mediums emerging in the late 90s. In 1998, I attended The Maryland Institute College of Art. During that intense Fine Art training, I discovered my natural instincts for film making, visual effects and animation. After receiving a BFA in 2002, I made the leap to Los Angeles to find my place in the TV and Film world. By chance I was thrown headfirst into the hectic world of big budget, vfx-heavy music videos of the early 2000s. By 2007 my strengths transitioned almost exclusively to finishing National Commercial Campaigns for the major brands we all know and love. Now a 20 year veteran in the industry, I’ve developed refined skill set in complex visual effects, beauty, color grading, compositing, clean up, graphics, conform and delivery. My main strength is leading complicated jobs with tight deadlines. Often that means listening to clients needs, translating that into a game plan, managing teams of artists, refining shots and then re-assembling the final, unified product. I find great satisfaction in the subtle art of making things “feel right”. After years in rooms working closely with clients, I pride myself on interpreting their vision & understanding sensibilities while keeping things running lean, quick and efficient.
